Just had a great experience with a site called Listings Project. I cleaned up the basement of our property. I will write a post about that specifically because it was an interesting process. So, I have this nicely painted basement that has been cleared out and looks great. I am now trying to monetize the space. So, I did a bunch of google searches about renting out basements and came across this thread that mentioned Listings Project. Listings Project is an artist themed website that sends out classifieds every Wednesday to artists. I wasn’t sure if a basement primarily for storage would be something people would be interested in but I gave it a shot. Posting an ad costs $20 for a week. My post went live at 8am today. I got about eight responses today. I have an open house tomorrow after work. If I get my price, I will pay off the investment in 4 months and then I am clearing $700 a month. Not bad for cleaning up a basement, waterproofing the walls and then painting the floor.
