Remember those nonexistent inspection issues? Well, I was five days late in returning the form(signed by the tenant) that the repairs were completed. Section 8 docked me rent. Worse, I won't get my check till next month. I also discovered that Section 8 agreed to increase the total rent I am getting each month but all they do is shift the rent increase to the tenant. They actually decreased the amount of money they contribute. NYC has an affordability crisis on its hands. Section 8 actually decreasing its share is laughable. But, I guess they are not getting as much money from the federal government. I don't know how this program will continue to work in NYC or other expensive markets.
